North American wild blueberries are a healthy delicacy which can be used in private households as well as for industrial food manufacturing. mk2 launched an ongoing PR campaign in 2006 to educate and spark demand for these berries among product developers, importers and consumers in Germany. Growing wild in Canada and Maine, they are packed with bioactive substances, taste delicious and are a part of a healthy diet.
We regularly supply the consumer press with new recipe ideas and inform them on health topics. The trade receives a quarterly newsletter with current information about marketing activities undertaken by the Wild Blueberry Association of North America and educates them about the product itself. The website www.wildeblaubeeren.de offers visitors everything from downloads for the trade to a recipe archive for consumers. The Association supports the "Five a Day" initiative. Whoever eats a handful of wild blueberries, just received one of the five portions of fruits & vegetables recommended by nutritionists. |
